This composition is in praise of Lord Muruga of Kazhukumalai near Tirunelveli. Rich in poetic excellence and charming melody, these songs are usually performed towards the end of a recital and have several stanzas but no pallavi, anupallavi and charana. Its divisions are mostly steeped in bhakti. The Kavadi Chindu relies heavily on folk music.
