Thalam - Adi
Composer - Sri Ulundoor Pettai Shanmugasundaram
Choreographer - Smt. Daya Ravi
This is a beautiful piece about Sri Durga, the consort of Lord Shiva. Near the Sivagangai pond, Sri Durga smiles wearing a small garment on her waist like a little girl. The poet says that he can talk endlessly about the beauty of her eyes and nothing compares to her beauty. Mother Sivagami’s body is like lightning and she blesses her devotees with happiness and fulfills their wishes. She braids her hair and adorns it with fragrant wild jasmine and she dances exuberantly and in conjunction with Lord Shiva, the lord of dance.
